My name is Isa Carmona, I am a Mexican-Puerto Rican artist based in Brooklyn, NY. My artistic endeavors center around an exploration of the human figure and energy and its interactions with space and time.
In my work, I weave in elements of fantasy with fragments of personal memory such as objects, figures, and imagined spaces to explore how individual experiences connect to a larger, shared field of consciousness. Color plays a crucial role in my work, as it is my tool in orchestrating a sense of place, and an ode to the chromatic language of my culture. I build my palette intuitively, which serves as a conduit for engaging in vulnerability and play. My vision is rooted in the desire to connect with others through visual conversation, creating familiar yet imaginary dreamscapes.
